Practical aspects of making your glad place a part of the home you have dreamed of.
America is changing. The pandemic taught us that home is a safe place, but it should be designed and decorated to keep its charm and make us enjoy being there.
Some of us are working toward a four-day workweek and that will ultimately give us more time at home. Some of us are now able to work remotely, i.e., not in the office, but … of course!... at home.
Please note that while the whole of our abode should be made more beautiful and functional, the kitchen will often play an extremely important role in the successful creation and promotion of a happy home. In our busy lives, often under the necessity of having both husband and wife in the labor force, there was little time for the wife (or sometimes, the pair) to acquire the art of cooking. But with the enhanced opportunities to work at home and spend more time at home, wives will more often have the chance to pursue the art of cooking. More husbands will make the surprising discovery that cooking and helping in the kitchen can make a delightful hobby. The kitchen will become a more important part of the happy home and the dining room or the family's supper table will become a central place for family communication and togetherness.
We’re going to be much happier if our glad place is comfortable, beautiful, and functional. That will provide for us the beautiful place we aspire to. Kindness, understanding and caring will make it the home we have dreamed of and the kitchen and dining room, "our glad place," will bring our happy family closer together.
